Welcome
Ackers Point Resort & Hotel is a family-owned, family-run business that provides weekly cottage rentals and beautiful space for select special events. We are open from May to October. The Resort was built along the CKS (Chicago-Kalamazoo-Saginaw) railroad and opened in 1891 as a destination vacation spot, welcoming travelers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts. You can view more of our history here, or stop in and peek at our photo albums in the Lodge.
The railroad no longer exists but we are still here! Our family has owned and operated the resort since 1976. Generations of the same families return year after year to vacation here, and that is our most cherished accomplishment. We treasure our guests and the summer community they build. With nearly six acres of land situated on a spectacular point in beautiful, quiet, Long Lake, there's plenty of natural beauty to enjoy and fantastic water views from nearly every spot on the Resort. We have 750 feet of lake frontage, so there is plenty of space for our guests to roam, swim, and play. Each of our fifteen cottages has two bedrooms, at least one full bath, and a kitchen equipped with cooking and dining essentials. Every cottage has its own private outdoor space, (open deck, screened-in porch, or both). Our long-time guests have their favorites and many enjoy the nostalgia of sharing childhood memories of their cottage and resort with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Our three story rustic Lodge offers gathering spots, and a large enclosed porch that seats 40 people. Guests enjoy trips to the Lodge to socialize, work on puzzles, play board games, and buy candy, ice cream and toys from our original 1891 store. Our grounds include a great sandy beach with swim dock, swim raft, and sunning deck and a separate "dog beach" for dogs to enjoy the water. The large grassy front lawn is perfect for yard games, gatherings, shade trees and picnics at our picnic tables. We also have a campfire site, charcoal grills and lawn furniture. Boat docks are also available for our boating and fishing enthusiasts.
Other Resort amenities include canoes, kayaks, rowboats, paddleboards, and outboard motors.
And yes, pets are welcome in most of our cottages (please refer to our Pet Guidelines).
Please tour our site, and of course, contact us with any inquiries.
